Upon completion of hydroseeding we will discuss and leave aftercare instructions, here are some commonly asked questions we are asked:
Yes, most definitely. Water is essential for growth, we will discuss watering with you as it is dependent on the season, as a general rule 3x daily for 10mins in every area is sufficient.
No, generally we do not. We do recommend the correct fertilizer which only costs $25 and will last 6-12months.
Your topsoil should be leveled with a minimum of 50mm of screened soil, it should be lightly rolled so you don’t sink more than the tread on you boots but loose enough to write your name with your finger.
Hydroseeding is applied evenly to form a nourished bed of mulch, it will strike and won’t wash away like hand seeding is prone to do, Ready lawn is great but at 3-4x the cost it is expensive and labor intensive.
No, it is 100% biodegradable, it doesn’t stain and is safe to soil.
It is best to stay off it and keep pets off for the first 3 weeks, it is ok to walk on to water, but stay off it if you are leaving footprints.
Yes, if the soil is firm re-rake it to loosen, or apply another thin layer of soil (20mm), this is a common job we do.
Unfortunately, with any topsoil you bring in you will have weeds, (our seed is certified weed-free), once the grass is 8 weeks old weeds can be treated we recommend ‘weed and feed’ from hardware stores.
Most definitely, establishment and summer months require significant water, a sprinkler is not ideal unless you have a lot of spare time.
Yes, establishment in the winter months is slower but with correct watering it will grow as a lawn would in spring, autumn and summer.
